Well its time to say something abt karachi................luv u khi.....where to start with ok first tell u it will take ur time 2 read all this..................!

History

"One day she will be the Queen of the East", said Charles Napier a hundred year ago about Karachi. It was then only a small village. Today Karachi bursts upon the visitor as a vast commercial and industrial center, a sea of people teeming with human activity, its population having already exceeded nine million mark and still growing.

This metropolitan city of Karachi was until 1725 A.D. just a barren piece of land , washed on three sides by the blue waters of the Arabian Sea. A few fishermen lived in a small huts on the sunny creek. There was a pool of water on this barren piece of land which was known as Kalachi-jo-Kun. Kalachi was the name of fisherman whereas kun meant a deep kitch. Therefore, "Kalachi-jo-Kun" meant the deep ditch of Kalacahi, the fisherman.

A few mud huts sprang around this point and their numbers increased. Gradually a village came into being . This village was called as Kalachi-jo-Ghote, which as time passed grew into prominence.

Historical places to visit

Khaliqdina Hall which is named after its doner Ghulam Hussain Khaliqdina was constructed in 1906. Its doner left Rs. 18,000 in his will, for utilizing it in some Public Project and opened for the committee room of the Native General Library opened in 1851 with the help of Sir Bartle Frere. Thus it was decided to built a public a Public Hall and a library with the donated amount. The funds were not enough for such an ambitious project, therefore the Karachi Municipality came forward to help and provided Rs. 15,000 towards the cost of construction. It was the largest Public Hall in Karachi of that time.

Frere Hall is one of the most elegant and beautiful buildings of Karachi. It is situated on Victoria Road and Elphinston Street. The construction of this Hall began in 1863 and was completed in 1865. It was raised in the memory of Sir Bartle Frere. The upper floor of the two storied yellowish Karachi lime stone building, consists of a 70 ft. X 24 ft. hall, and an orchestral gallery

Venetian Gothic in style, this building was constructed to honor Max Denso, a prominent citizen of Karachi and six times President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Designed by James Strachen, it includes an entrance hall, library reading room and some small room on the ground floor. The upper floor is a large hall with an accommodation about 500 persons and was used for different types of social gatherings. Its salient features includes decorative columns and elements reflecting the Venetian Gothic period.

Mazar-e-Qauid located in the heart of the city, this mausoleum harbor the mortal remains of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Founder of Pakistan. It was completed in 1970 and was designed by Architect Yahya Merchant. Its massive tapered walls are crowded at the top by a semi-circular dome. A 80 ft. long chandelier in four tiers and with 48 lights.

well dat was enought of the history now to talk abt Karachi International Airport has the honored of Pakistan's first international Airport

JINNAH TERMINAL

Karachi Airport, commonly known as
Jinnah International Airport is a strategically located gateway to the Far East and Europe.
The airport provides facilities for almost 6 million passengers, with over 50,000 annual aircraft movements and contributes Rs. 3 billion in economic benefits

Beaches

A chain of beaches in karachi

Clifton beach visited by mostly everyone living in karachi. It's populated but still beautiful

French beach the water is clean and the air is crisp.A great place to go for a mixture of beauty and excitement!

Hawks Bay a wonderfully sunny and sandy beach. The huts allow total privacy and the view is  magnificent. If you don't own a hut no matter, they have huts for rent. It is definitely worth it. It is a non rocky area portion of our coast so it is the best beach to take the family. A must see in Karachi.

Sand spit quite near Hawks bay, it is pretty much the same. A good place for turtle watching and a good view!! Completely unpolluted and positively beautiful. If you go at night there are turtles all over the place. If you are careful, you might even get a ride on one of them.

Paradise point
is a fairly rocky region, so no swimming can be done there, never the less it has a lot of other things going for it. The fact that the water is very clear and you can see to the bottom of the rocky pools there is just one of them

Clubs

Most of the social and athletic clubs allow foreigners to join on a temporary or non-voting basis, but a sponsor is necessary for membership. As liquor is prohibited in public places and Pakistani private clubs, home entertaining has become the most common from of socializing. However, clubs are still used for sports, business entertaining and other social gatherings.
