Hi SD,
All I know is Zidane was absolutely wrong.
I am not defending Materazzi here. He did something wrong too.

When you play for a team, the team always comes first and than
individual. What Zidane did was put himself above the team.
He said he did this for his family's honour and also because he is man first.

That means he put his family and his manhood above the team
which is absolutely wrong in my opinion.

Also shirt grabbing, clutching and provokation to barso se chalata
aaya hai. Yeh koi nayee baat nahin hai. Zidane being 34 years old
and veteran football player, should know better.

If Materazzi was fighting with Zidane with words than stay with
the words. He should not have headbutted.

This is my unbias opinion as once Argentina lost, I did not care that much
who won. But I did not like German and French teams only because
of their arrogance.

Hi anjani,
I do not know about India/Pakistan but in US we have all sports radio in all
major cities.
These radio stations run 24 hours and 7 days and all day and
all night people and host talk about sports.
There is a 4 hours shift on the radio. In a shift there may be 1 host,
2 hosts or 3 hosts.
We are talking about 24X7 sports talk and you got tired in few hours.

if i was a man...and someone said something wrong abt my house ladies....i would have reacted the same way!!!! i would never let anyone say a word abt my house's ladies.......and the italy player had no right to bring Zidane's sister, mother, wife...in middle of this....its a game...that is played with a soccer ball...in which he should have not dragged women in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Anjani,
First of all, your views are always welcome. You are fine.

I agree with you what you said. Materazzi is wrong and he should not
have said all those things if he said. I am repeating myselt here saying
that the team is above all personal insults and temper.

Think about what is at stake. What you have to lose. In this case
Zidane has to lose more than Materazzi. A team should not get
punished because of one individual's error by losing temper evenif
he is right.

Materazzi was just playing mind game with Zidane and he was
successful in provoking him. It is called a game within the game.

Seriously, if Zidane would have used all his anger and temper in
trying to score a winning goal (the score was 1/1) I am sure
he would have scored.
