Heaving great sighs,
And missing the old days-
Things have changed
People have changed
Their ways have changed.
You have definitely changed
And I might have too’
Yet, some things remain the same-
My passion and your obliviousness.
Maybe It’s not you
That I love so dearly
But the idea of you,
Maybe I do love you
And only you.
What difference does it make?
You’re moving on
Maybe I should too,
But you have yet to give back
What you took so long ago.
No, no heartbreaks here
How can there be
When my heart is with you?
Fall into silence and listen carefully
Don’t you hear
That extra beat in your chest?
The one that seems
To be growing fainter day by day?
It will die out
One day soon-
Tired of being ignored
And left unnoticed.
Maybe, you will then realize:
How lonely your heart beats
Without a companion
A friend or anyone
What then?
Will you cry with agony?
Or will you shrug it off as
Too miniscule to care?
