*THE MOTHER*

THE nine days of celebration
Are here once again
Days of colour and gaiety
Of melody and refrain

When the Goddess visits our home
And brings us good fortune
We worship her with fervour
And humbly seek a boon

As I prepare the daily "Pooja Thaal"
I miss my Own Mother So..!!
She was the One who taught me
The Prayer, the Ritual and many more.

Though she left me quite a while ago
Not a day passes without her memory
I had to group up in the hurry
To take care of the one who longed for love
To take care of the deserted ones..

Overburdened i feel sometimes
So lonely and afraid
But with devotion, I perform the "Pooja"
And all my fears fade

For in the visage of the Goddess
My Mother's face I find
And in that benign presence
I am onceagain --- a Child...

Nice to read Roja, you just combined virtue of both the mothers.. ie. Godess and the Mother.
