Cupid lapsed the doors ajar,
Things in love have gone astray,
Riding on the winking star,
Sneaking from the milkyway,
All the night and everyday,
Come and live with me my fay.

Clapping rills in feast engage,
Clouds are dancing in the sky,
Nyphs are singing out of cage,
Prying moon with bridal shy,
All the things of nature pray,
Come and live with me my fay.

Heart is deeper than the sea,
Love is lofty more than hill,
As lone and injured bird in lea,
I sob and sigh I moan and trill,
All the night I pine and say,
Come and live with me my fay.

Do not rip my optic grave,
Leave my love and soul enshrined,
Let the pathos wash the rave,
And lashes wipe it intertwined,
Where the leverets hide and play,
Come and live with me my fay.

Wandering wind with lips on reeds,
Cooing birds in florid troughs,
Near the lake in fragrant weeds,
Where the vale is void of sloughs,
There I bleed on thorny hay,
Smiling, smiling all the way,
Come and get me up my fay.
