this was a topic for an on the spot poetry contest in the inter college conetst here :D

Waiting for a train.

Why do the birds chirp so loudly
why does the wind blow so proudly
everything right now, seems a violation
as i sit here, soggy eyed, at a railway station

God please tell me, what is my crime??
why is it that my train is never on time??
wat has inspired this amorous rhyme?
take a guess and youll win a dime

every morning in the daylight, at 7 am sharp
goes off my alarm, like a reality warp
and i wake up to realise, a dreary time ahead
another day at the station, wishing i was in bed

the pesky pan wala, the nosy newspaperman
torchering me to my limits, maybe they have a plan
to deprive me of my sleep and peace of mind.
here comes the cobbler brother, thinking Im so kind
that i would want to mend shoes which arent torn.
and pay him advance for those i havent yet worn
the smell of samosas so early in the day
makes me sick, i warn you, i ll puke in your way
my boss;s anger is what helps me sustain
or i wouldnt take such pain, just waiting for a train.

its getting on my nerves, the torcher, the wait
no matter what day, im always going to be late
funny how this affects this whole life of mine
so i ll suicide right now, on this very railway line..

learn to be positive, says a voice ni my head
sometimes you've to do the things that u dread
even if it is, just waiting for a stupid train
as lifes tough my friend, no pain, no gain...
