The Godfather a novel my Mario Puzo

Mario Puzo was born in New York. He is the author of the bestselling novel The Godfather and many other acclaimed novels. Puzo also wrote many screenplays, including those for the three Godfather movies, for which he won two academy awards. He died at his home in Long Island, New York, at the age of seventy-eight.


About the book:
Don Vito Corleone is the Godfather of one of the most powerful and richest families in new York. He is a very important gangster with three sons and a daughter: Sonny, the eldest, Fredo, Michael, the youngest and Miss Constantia Corleone. Michael was different from the others in his family. He wants queit and an honest life with Kay.  This isn’t as easy as he thinks. Michael begins to change and he becomes the most dangers gangster. So ,the story starts with the wedding of the Don Vito’s daughter where Johnny Fontaine, a popular actor arrive and asks the Godfather to help him to get a part in film. For helping him, Don Vito sends his adopted son, Tom Hagen, to Hollywood to solve this problem for his Godson. Even he tells to Jack Woltz that he works for Don Vito, the last one doesn’t want to help him only after Tom killed his racehorse. The problems between families starts from the day when Don Vito refuse Virgil Sollozo, an excellent at a killing people with a knife, to share his important friends with him and the Tataglia family in a drugs business. After this, the Godfather sends Luca Brasi to the Tataglias to find all about Tataglias. This one pretends that he is not happy with Corleone, but this will be a big mistake: the enemy will kill him. Later Tom Hagen will be kidnapped by Sollonzo and Don Corleone will be shouted. Even if Don Corleone survive, Michael hearing about his father, decides to kill all the enemies of his family. So, the war had begun. Sonny will kill Solozo and the captain Mc Cluskey. After these Michael was hiding in Sicily. He will get married with Apollonia, who’ll be killed by the Tattaglias. Sonny will be killed, too. When the both families lose sons, Don Corleone decides to stop the war.
