Though, 'translations' seldom succeed in representing the original text to their core, yet 'people' are seen succeeding in a big way! I had translated, 'Meghdootam' in HINDI (verse to verse), but only the first 20 'shloks' in English. My translation of the following shlok (Poorwa Megham - 10), follows as below:-

मन्दम्-मन्दम् नुदति पवनश्चानुकूलो यथा त्वाम्
बामश्चायम् नदति मधुरम् चातकस्ते सगन्ध:!
गर्भाधानक्षणपरिचयान्नूनमाबद्धमाला:
सेविष्यन्ते नयन्सुभगम् खे भवनतम् बलाका:!!१०!!

"A Lovely Light Breeze Blows Slowly: Favourably
To Propel You Northwards, Towards The Goal!
Chataka, In Anticipation, In His Sweet Tune,
The Ensuing Rains Have Turned Him That Hilarious,
Is Singing On Your Left Pleasantly-Proudly!
Also, In Anticipation Of The Moments Sweet,
In View Of Nearing Season Of Their Conceptions,
The Female Cranes Are Flying, In Close Company
Of Their Respective Males, In Lovely Rows
High In The Sky, Fondling Them For The Event;
Serving You, As Well, With Eye-Charming Movements!"


"मंद -मंथर गति, पथ-अनुकूल, पवन-प्रवहन; 'पी कहाँ' सगर्व
बोलता चातक मृदु  तव बाम! गर्भ-धारण-क्षण सुख मधुपर्व
लेख, अनुभूति निमित्त बलाक-प्रेमिकाएं प्रिय को  सत्कार,
मुदित सेवा करतीं, अभिराम पंक्तियों में कर गगन-विहार!!"

dono bhashaon ki  jitni jankaari  hai  uske anusaar
mujhe yeh aapka translation bahut bahut sundar laga .
bahut bahut badhai aapko.
