'Bahaktee khushboo-e-gul see, mahak key chaltee ho!

Lalaktey jhounkoun mein, toofaan-see machaltee ho!!

Husn key kitney bharam paaloon jigar mein apney;

Kyounki, tum anchhuye saanchoun mein roz dhaltee ho?

Sotey-jugtey ajeeb khwaab deykhtaa hoon mein:

Tum-hee-tum aakey sarey aam mujhey miltee ho!

Jub, 'abd', mein tumhain pahichaan naheen paataa hoon;

Tabssumoun mein, meyrey roo-b-roo pighaltee ho!!'
