उलझे हुये थे तारे उलझे हुये से हम थे,
खोये हुये थे वो, हम भी कहीं पे ग़ुम थे,

ग़ुम थीं कहीं सदायें कुछ लापता थे पल,
कुछ तुम खफ़ा खफ़ा से, रूठे हुये से हम थे,

सदियों सी थीं वो घड़ियाँ, लमहे सी ज़िन्दगानी,
दूर तुम खड़े थे कुछ फ़ासले पे हम थे,

क्या पूछते कि तुमको क्या हो गया अचानक? ,
बदले हुये थे तुम भी, बदले हुये से हम थे,

रो देतीं कैसे आँखें, यूँ ही सामने तुम्हारे,
तुम कब्र में थे अपनी, बाहर खड़े जो हम थे,

ग़ुमनाम के लबों पर किस्सा ये कैसा आया,
वो सो गये ख़ुदाया, जागे हुये से हम थे... ग़ुमनाम

Uljhe hue the taare uljhe hue se ham the,
Khoye hue the wo, ham bhi kahin pe ghum the,

Ghum thi kahin sadaayen kuch laapata the pal,
Kuch tum khafaa khafaa se, roothe hue se ham the,

Sadiyon si thi wo ghadiyaan, lamhe si zindgani,
Door tum khade the kuch faasle pe ham the,

Kya poochte ki tumko kya ho gaya achanak?,
Badle hue the tum bhi, badle hue se ham the,

Ro deti kaise aankhen, yun hi saamne tumhare,
Tum kabra me the apni, bahar khade jo ham the,

Ghumnaam ke labon pe kissa ye kaisa aaya,
Wo so gaye khudaya, jage hue se ham the... Ghumnaam
