Which Digital Cam to go for.... ??

Hii All,
I am looking for a digital camera with excellent pic quality. It should be around 8-10 megapixels, around 4x Optical Zoom and some other features(like image stablizer) that ensures excellent image output.
Some of my friends have suggested me to go for.. Canon A640, whereas others prefer a Nikon P4. I ask the technical guys here to suggest me the best Cam, I should go for. My budget is around 20k. If you people are using any Digicams, please share your experiences too, like the problems u faced with the one you have.

hmmm

i think u should go wid sony..!!

iw ould prefer for u to actually just take a pic on each one
and try to see which one has the highest features and the one with the best picture quality :D

Thanks for all your votes.... Sony is no doubt a good brand.. But it is not offering as many features as the other brands do..

After discussing with all my friends I was left with just two options..

Canon A640 and Nikon P4....

After some web search I have decided to go for Nikon, As this is offering some good features like Vibration Reduction....

I'm waiting for the prices to go down a bit for the camera Canon S5-IS. I've seen the results of Canon S5-IS.... it's just a marvelous cam.

If u have ot gone for the camera yet, then i woud like to suggest you few points....

Dont go for the Brand, go for the features available...

1. Optical Zoom (Its always Less than the Digital Zoom) More the Optical Zoom better
2. Megapixel Myth, Its not necessary that the more megapixel means better Picture Quality always.

its about how u do the job i have captured nice pics with my 2.1 MP, 4 Year Old Digital Camera, its about the lighting and the focus.

So better compare the features for best price.

Wish this Diwali u would be capturing ur Family with ur new Camera... Happy Diwali

i would like to add a comment...even though sony has a name...i am currently using a sony camera but i have also used a canon power shot a560 sumthing like that...and i prefer the picture quality and clearity of the canon one better!
i would recommend canon
