Celebrity Big Brother 5 kicked off tonight with more celebrities taking part than ever before (11) with them also being cooped up for longer than ever before (25 days). Will there be any celeb friendships made in heaven - or hell?
First in was Jermaine Jackson - of THE Jacksons. He is used to having servants and is very concerned about germs, he wont even touch the doorknobs in public places...He is also a very private person and a picky eater.
Next up was 'WAG' Danielle Lloyd a former Miss Great Britain who was stripped of her title after it was discovered that she was dating one of the judges - Teddy Sheringham. Her favourite TV show is Heartbeat and she thinks that Winston Churchill was America's first black leader.
Ken Russell, formerly enfant terrible of the British film industry, was next into the house. He is fascinated by Big Brother and was very glad that he was asked to do it.
Our fourth housemate is former S Club 7 babe Jo O'Meara. After S Club broke up Jo launched a solo career that never really got off the ground. She is now a dog breeder and would like Kathy Burke to play her in a film of her life.
Seventies singer Leo Sayer was next through the doors. He thinks that he is a very funny and positive person who can cheer up any room and that he hasn't really got any negative qualities...
Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty is the sixth housemate. She has been called 'the Indian Angelina Jolie' and says that she puts 200% into everything that she does. She wants every Indian to be proud of her.
Carole Malone, tabloid journalist, followed Shilpa in. She doesn't like people who are famous for doing nothing and neither does she like 'WAGs'. She has previously called Big Brother contestants 'a bunch of morons'.
Donny Tourette, lead singer of The Towers of London, gave us one of the most extreme entrances ever swearing and gesticulating at the press and crowd, who promptly booed him. His bad habits include spitting and not lifting the toilet seat.
Ian 'H' Watkins, ex of Steps, was next in. He currently works as a jobbing actor and chose today to 'come out' in the Sun. He is most looking forward to having fun and making friends.
Our tenth housemate this year is Cleo Rocas, best-known from the Kenny Everett Show. She says that she is 'nauseatingly happy' and is looking forward to 'having fun in the house and a bit of a shriek'.
The final housemate through the doors was Dirk Benedict, from Battlestar Galactica and The A Team. He claims that he 'doesn't like groups, belonging, tasks or working with groups' so wonders why he is doing it.
How long will it be before they are at each others' throats?
Big Brother will, in true Big Brother fashion, be dropping a large spanner in the works on Friday when a 'celebrity family' (rumoured to be Jade Goody's family) will be moving in and adopting one of the housemates as their own!
Celebrity Big Brother is on every night on Channel 4.
