क्या बीती कैसे बोलूँ जब साथ थे तुम्हारे,

थे सामने नज़ारे, नज़रों के मेरे हमदम,
पलकों पे मेरी दिलबर कुछ ख्वाब थे तुम्हारे,

ख़ामोश थीं सदायें चुप तुम भी थे वहीं,
नज़रों की तेरे जानिब, कुछ राज़ थे तुम्हारे,

कुछ कह रहे थे हमसे लम्हे वो अनकहे से,
चुप सुन रहे थे दोनों, अलफाज़ वो कुँवारे,

थे जाम या समुन्दर मुझको ख़बर नही थी,
पलकों से गिर पड़े दो, जो अश्क़ थे तुम्हारे,

पहलू में तेरी आके जन्नत सी मिल गयी थी,
कुछ दूर थे ख़ुदा से, कुछ पास थे तुम्हारे,

क्या दे रही थी मुझको आवाज़ तेरी धड़कन,
कह रही थी मुझसे, हम हो गये तुम्हारे,

वो दौर कुछ अलग था वो रात कुछ जुदा थी,
आग़ोश में थे तेरी, ग़ुमनाम थे तुम्हारे... ग़ुमनाम

Thi raat wo tumhari, the pal bhi wo tumhare,
kya beeti kaise bolen jab saath the tumhare,

The saamne nazare, nazron ke mere hamdam,
Palkon pe meri dilbar kuch khwab the tumhare,

Khamosh thi sadaayen chup tum bhi the wahin,
Nazron ki teri janib kuch raaz the tumhare,

Kuch keh rahe the hamse lamhe wo ankahe se,
Chup sun rahe the dono, alfaaz wo kunware,

The jaam ya samandar mujhko khabar nahi thi,
Palkon se gir pade do, jo ashk the tumhare

Pehlun me teri aake jannat si mil gayi thi,
Kuch door the khuda, se kuch paas the tumhare,

Kya de rahi thi mujhko aawaaj teri dhadkan,
Keh rahi thi mujhse, ham ho gaye tumhare,

Wo daur kuch alag tha wo raat kuch judaa thi,
Aaghosh me the teri, Ghumnaam the tumhare... Ghumnaam
