Phoenix, research on stem cells is hot these days !!

Structural Biology is the field where we study the overall structures of various significant proteins. My field of study involves research on proteins that are implicated in various diseases, the aim is to design drug candidates against these proteins, so its "Structure based drug design" !!

I think it might be too technical Winking

Hmmmm..A quick question about this....
Is it kindoff making drugs which would target on the proteins. I guess the cell structure is more looked into....
Cud you send me links about the Scorpion toxin study ya did...But wud love to know abt it in simplified version......

Hey is anybody interested in astronomy or astrophysics...I mean sumeone who has a phD or a masters in this field..I have a fried of mine who has an editorial page open...

btw, yes, these drugs are to be targeted against proteins, to regulate their activity in diseased states !

Well then a major application wud be the path breaking drugs which were discovered to break down the high cholesterol deposits in the human heart..Rather they were very cleverly design to breakdown the so called cholestorol deposits...I suppose I am right...I am not so good at it..I am more into Automotive Noise Reduction!!!
