On that note....Mr. Admin....i have one doubt here....i used to be yoindia monitor once....has the monitorship status stopped now or is it that i have been removed from it....if its the latter case....i would have appreciated if i was told....

Please stop arguing all of you. I know you all and understand how you all are feeling and your point of view. This is what i was trying to avoid --> unnecessary debate. I knew that this issue will flare up, but nobody understood my point. What is Admin ji waiting for? He is coming online everyday. Reads this post, gives a comment which is not a solution to this issue, and keeps dragging this matter. What will happen ultimately? Few members will feel dejected with the replies here and decide to leave Yoindia, even though if they didn't want to. Or just become dormant for a while. And our competitors will have a hearty laugh at us.

I just want to ask one simple question to everyone? If members like Sonia and others have noticed that post count has been stopped for gaming section without any notice or warning (including monitors) and that now a debate on this has been started and most of you (including the ones who think that 99% members will vote for including post count), then what are you waiting for? Reimplement the post count. As nobody is going to get a medal or is asking for one...then what is the problem my friends?

Or if you are so concerned about only shayari, then remove all the non shayari related sub forums.  Woh bhi nahi karna chahoge. This also i know.

My nutshell conclusion is that be realistic or be ready to face the consequences.

What you have said is true Rajbir sahab...........thats precisely what i said in my first post....that if u have accepted gaming section as a part of the forum, then whats the problem with accepting the count....this is the sole reason that i always wanted that gaming forum shud not be included here...but no one agreed to it then.

I have been in yoindia for long enough to know how things have become over time....this place has become a place for chit-chat and gaming more than genuine shayari.......look at the ratio of number of posts in a shayari section and in other section and u will know!!!

All said and done.....i will still say that someone actually thought that post count is a good enough reason to bring to a general discussion.....i left yoindia once.....coz i had seen the standard going down here.....but i was convinced to come back.....but all this discussion about something which should have be immaterial.....i think i should reconsider my decision...

But, if they don't want to remove blindfolds, let them know the harms of it. We know that respect and honor can't be achieved by numbers, you need to show your creativity and quality with hard work and passion.

There were few points raised in this discussion..

1. If post count is stopped for game then what about those who already made a big part of their post count from Gaming?
Answer: As I already said, Yoindia is purely poetry community but common discussion is allowed like we do in chit-chat etc. but in gaming it became exceptionally high that it started diluting importance of activity in other section if seen in concern to post count. So it is high time to stop counting of posts made in Game Section, so if have to do then why not now. We should do better for coming days.

2. If Yoindia is only Poetry site then why we have Gaming section etc at all?
Answer: Indeed Yoindia is   Poetry site but there was room provided for General Discussion as "Chit-Chat" but it turned out that our member are interested in some non poetic activities too which rather allow them to have some lighter moments. However, despite of being possiblity of many new section, we only added 1 more as "Gaming Section" and was for better classification of pure gaming activities.
You can see that Poetry Sections are easily distinguished from non-poetic activities. Also to add here, I even went for another community (eTI) instead of expanding Yoindia just for the sake of maintaining Yoindia's poetic nature. It was again added just for the sake of need of time.

3. On Yoindia, poetic activities are degrading !
Answer: Not really but to encourage more on poetry we try to implement measures like this one and I even suggest that we should not count posts from Chit-chat section either.

4. When Post count of Gaming section was taken off without intervention / advice of any Member / Monitor then why this debate to restart or not?
Answer: I had advice from members time to time to do something about to encourage people little more on poetic activities than Gaming etc. So I found that taking off post counts from Gaming section will be a help. I did thought to ask for member's  views before taking this action but I took off thinking that member will welcome this action as there is no harm in it and members did appreciated apart of few. Still, if going proper way, I will enable post count then after it, again open thread ask  people's view to disable post count for Chit-chat and Gaming similar sections. But I guess we are doing same, only difference is that I took off post count already and now we are discussing should we keep it as it is or get it back! I even add that we should not count "Chit-Chat Section" Posts too.

5. Why we have this discussion being dragged?
Answer: Its almost impossible that everyone will agree so in this case we will go with majority as this is the logical way to solve the problem. Yoindia is community website and every member of this community is valuable and so do his / her views. So this thread is there just to make sure that we are going to the path which is acceptable by most. So far it is clear that fellow member's are mostly in favour for not to count Game section posts.


I must add here that no one is insulting anyone. Specially Sonia01, if I came up with some proposal which effects everyone from Yoindia and majority do not like it then I will not feel dejected. You mentioned that "Aap adi hui hain aapke view pe ki post toh post hai, Shayari ho ya Game, ginti honi chahiye".
Your above post made this whole discussion biased, I must remind that this discussion is about viability of post count in gaming section, its not about proving something. If people do not agree with you then it never means they are insulting you, they just said what they felt is better.
You should not take it personally and rather should go logistic and with right decision. Syednami, Punam, Palkhi etc. they were against post being not counted but later on when they realized that its not the best way then, without any hasitation changed there mind and no one felt insulted.

Also, in near future, I am working to come up with a way so that we can easily distinguish between activities of people in poetic and non-poetic section.

Lastly, as Majority is in favour of removing post count hence "We are not going to count posts for Gaming Section" .

i agree with this decision..i would definitely not MIND if gaming posts were counted, but i think this would def. encourage members to try their hand at writing shayri..
yoindia is mainly a shayri forum, and the gaming section is, as admin ji said, just to lighten up and not be majorly taken part it. . yo shouldnt be known as a gaming site..right?

see u guys, i dont know why posts should matter so much. my posts are not upto the time i spend on yoindia but it doesn make a difference.
lets just all face the fact that admin ji has put in a lot of effort for this site and whatever decision he's taken, its taken keeping the best interests at heart. dont u guys think?

once again, with all my heart, i request our members not to argue on trivial things like this. Yes, opinions differ and we may disagree. But for heaven's sake, lets all act like adults and see the rationality here.

I think the members who want the posting in gaming to be counted, shouldnt think that their posts are useless. You guys come here to enjoy, and seeing ur posts all around yoindia, u get recognized..make friends and learn to chill out people.

oh and punam, aap bohot achi shayri karti ho, i love what u write. so dont ever say again that aapko shayri kam aati hai..ur realy very talented. Others can try their hand at shayri too..trust me its addictive!!

Admin ji thanks for your detailed reply. I think, now everyone will understand clearly why gaming post counts were stopped. At least i have understood it very clearly.

Now, it is my humble request to all my friends, who were in favor and those who were against gaming post counts, to stop discussing further on this issue. A very clear mandate has emerged from this discussion and lets all respect the final decision taken by Admin ji.

Main to teerath yatra par jaane ki soch raha tha, magar lagta hai i will also reconsider my decision now...kyun Amit kya khayal hai?
