Shuttle Discovery is fuelled up and ready to fly
The weather over Cape Canaveral is fine and dry - a perfect day to
head into space. Better still, the fuel sensor problem that caused
the cancellation of the previous launch attempt appears to have
righted itself. Overnight, NASA engineers encountered no hitches
while filling Discovery's external fuel tank with nearly 2 million
litres of supercold hydrogen and oxygen.
With the shuttle poised, and the crew now at the launch pad, all is
ready for lift-off, scheduled for 1039 EDT (1439 GMT) today. You can
follow all the day's developments via live reports from our team at
Cape Canaveral.
