I got up this morning
Unhappy and so blue
I put on my happy face
When I thought of you.

How wonderful to have a friend
That makes me feel so nice
Just picks me up and makes me smile
You've done that once or twice.

Friends that are one in a million
Like the friend you are to me
Some one I can depend on
Though your face I cannot see.

Friends don't come in a package
Can't be bought in any store
But they are there when you need them
Now who could ask for more.

I would like to say thank you
For giving me a happy face
You are the dearest friend in the world
And no one could take your place.
