Once upon at midnight hour
There perched upon my tower

An owl, hooting ominously
All the night I religiously
Kept on praying with all my might
To keep away my fear and fright.

Open my window I did not dare
Of its nature, being well aware
Fearing it would fly inside
Come forever and reside.

Inside my happy tranquil home
It were better that he should roam
For ever ever all the night
To survive he must put up a fight.

Full of forebodings, I tried to sleep
Lying huddled in a heap
In the morning, alas I found
Lay dead two owlets on the ground

Oh.!! Owl was not hooting ominiously
Bereaved, he was wailing piteously
Ashamed of my unfounded fears
I buried them deep shedding tears..
