When You’re Not Here !

When you're not here:
I find no light!
My heart pines:
When you're out of sight!!

Now, you're to me:
So dear; my dove!
- That, none lives near me:
Or above!!
 - That none else lives, any more near me;
At close quarters or far above!
Oh, yes, none else, absolutely,
 Lives near me, now!

I'm drifting in such a flood,
That drowns me not;
But, also permits no foot-holds;
Over there!
I want, you come,
And, rescue me!
I'm fighting for my life;
But losing fast!

 I know not:
That you're hearing me or not!!
But you're not answering any of my calls!
I know not why?

Are you not in the vicinity of this flood?
This flood, it appears, is made of my blood!
My blood: that's cooling very fast:
I say -
I say, yes,
It's too low to survive well!

It's not hypothermia;
At least, not yet!

You, yet know not:
That, it's not only you,
Yes, it's not only you;
Your memory also,
That warms me equally well:
Such that,
The Death God succeeds not;
-  And fails:
To freeze me out,
Like that!

It's hence,
And, only hence,
That I'm alive!
And, yea, I'm living also!

My body:
That has so imprisoned my soul,
Continues still to taste,
Not only one, but each of its sweet drops,
From the wine of the vase of the life!

I'm thus now living:
All my senses intact!
Yea, living!
Still living!
Yea, my darling!
