Shab guzaaree hai, binaa yaar ke pahloo mein rahe!
Beqaraaree hai, binaa pyaar ke pahloo mein rahe!!

Abra pur-aab ghane, chaandnee pai hain bhaaree;
Zeest haaree hai, binaa yaar ke pahloo mein rahe!

Ab kahaan raah-e-talab mein saraa-e-shab1 khojen;
Reig taaree2 hai, binaa gaar3 ke pahloo mein rahe?

Raahrou4 past, daaman-e-madad ko hai majboor;
Ashk-zaaree hai, binaa jaar5 ke pahloo mein rahe!

Jaw talak roshanee hai, par, 'abd' ko taareekee;
Iztiraaree6 hai, binaa daar7 ke pahloo mein rahe!

1-   Inn for (staying through) night;
2-   Overcast & lingering around;
3-   One, who could do some thing (to avert the unwanted);
4-   One, who is on a journey ( say, a tourist);
5-   A neighbour (or some one who may provide a shelter);
6-   Restlessness (due to profound longing for some one);
7-   House (place for a shelter).

Bade hi khoob khayaaloN ko umdaa lafzoN meiN baNdha hai aapne...

Bahut khoob janab bahut khoob... Is umdaa kalaam par humari dheroN dili daad O mubbarakbad kabul kijiye...

Likhate rahiye... Bazm meiN aate rahiye...
