Koochah-e-khaas mein wo kyaa sar-e-hijaab# huye?
Tamaam yaar-e-bazm* toot bey-shabaab huye!

Hain zardchashm## wahaan, they jahaan gul-o-bulbul;
Supurd-e-khaak sabhee zouq–e-aab-o-taab** huye!

Zeest-e-afshurdah@ bhar rahee hai aah chhup-chhup kar;
Dour-e-khushgaam-e-wasl zeyr-e-inqilaab huye! @@

Eik arsaa huaa hai, maykadaa nahin deykhaa!
Buland sab khum-e-sharaab inhidaab huye!! ++

Seij phooloun ki jahaan khushbuoun sey thee mahmah;
Aaj, aabaad waheen khaar bey-hisaab huye!

Deed sey jinkii iztraabiyaan$ gum hoteen thin;
Un key deedah-e-shokh$$ gum huye hain, khwaab huye!
 
Lamhey mein baad-e-shurt~, baad-e-mukhaalif^ hai, 'abd,
Naakhudaa past, bey-khayaal bey-jawaab huye!!

#  (She) got veiled to hide the head for the sake of dignity (waqaar)! In Islam veiled women are considered more dignified.

@@ Wasl kee mastee-bharee chaal key dour, badlaaw (pariwartan: waqt kaa ulat-feir) kee bheynt chadhh gaye hain!

 $ wyaakultaayen; beychainiyaan; beytaabiyaan.
$$ Shokh aankheyn.
~  That movement of air, which helps the ship to move ahead.
