dil hi kafi hai fakat haal pe rone ke liye
aankh ko chhod do neend-bhar sone ke liye
 
tera saath mujhe de deta khushiyan zamane bher ki
or tera jana kafi hai mujhe rulane ke liye
 
main hansti hun gam-a daur main bhi
dil ka daria hai gam chupane ke liye

lut gaya dil ka mere sara sukun
khus nahi pass mere ab khone ke liye

ek shana na mila dhoonde se
pal do pal chain se sone ke liye

teer si baat ayee or gyee bhi ho gyee
rehe gya dard palkein bhigone ke liye

daro-deewar hi phir se sahara denge
jab bhi khwahish hui rone ke liye

haas-parihaas taane-ulhane ya dard hi
hum hain haazir tera samaan dhone ke liye

jismein sirf main or meri tanhai ho
muntezir hun aese kisi kone ke liye
