Nange paao chale the jo ret par sath-sath,
Aaj un kadamo ke nishan dhund raha hun.

Kuchh hasin pal jo bitaye the ham sath-sath,
Aaj un yadon ke nishan dhud raha hun.

Aaj sham aai teri itni yad ki,
jo zakhm mile the teri chahat se,
Aaj un zakhmo ke nishan dhund raha hun.

Tere us hawa ka rukh janane ki zid par,
taaron ko mutti me bhar uchhal to diya tha,
Aaj falak pe un taaron ka nishan dhund raha hun.

Teri ruswai ka asar mujhapar to hona hi tha,
Mai mit chuka hun kuchh is kadar ki,
Aaj apne hone ka nishan dhund raha hun.
