raat  katt tee  nahi  din  gujartaa nahee,
zindagi rook  jati  hai  waqt rukta nahee,

dard e dil hone se  aankhe  nam hotee jab,
fir zamaane main gam koee chuptaa nahee,

tanhaiya  hone  lage jab  bhee  mere kareeb,
tufaan  udasiyo,n ka  seene fir rukta nahee,

ahal e jahaa,n ke  taane  talwaar  ke jaise,
jo zakham  de  jate  to  lahoo  rukta nahee,

jaam pee late jab  koee yaad  aa jata hai,
woh tadpane  wala manzar  fir rukta nahee,

woh gayi  chore ke  esya  sadma laga jeet,
yaad aaye  shab e firak dil dhadkta nahee,
