woh kia janein dil ka haal
utra jin ke dil  mein  baal

chand se sunder unkee soorat
dhoop mein heeray jaisa  khaal

Qabil e rashk he teri zulf
choomti he jo    tere gaal

rasta kathin aur manzil door
aabla pa raahi nidhaal

woh  mere hein  ye kaise kahun
Jaan tu loon mein unka  khayal

chand  bhi tere aagay maand
lala o gul  bay misl o misaal

hijr kee shab kab hogi khatm
kis din hoga tum se visaal

waqt e peeri haal na pooch
Ishq kee ab nahi galti  daal

Eid ke din tu lag ja galay
door he se na hum ko taal

Ishq kee bazi sauda naqd
dil kee  dil per  maro chaal

dard e dil kia hota he jee?
bedard ne kar daala ye  sawaal

Husn e beparwa kee khair
aashiq ka jeena kia muhaal

Jal machli jal mein milti he
Sehra mein pagal daal na jaal?  

saal e no kee khushian mubarak
saal e nau rehe saalha saal!
