Khairmakdam karoongaa, aao to!
Dar pai haazir hun: ab bulaao to!!

Zindagee lout na jaaye, aakar?
Kab jagaaogey: kuchh bataao to!!

Nisf shab chup hai, tumhain sun-ney ko:
Dil kee harqat ko gungunaao to!

Dour-e-sailaab hai ufaanoun par;
Baahuaun ko idhar badhhaao to!

Gulfasaanee kareyn darakht chahak,
Raah aisee, 'abd' dikhaao to!
