Maikadey  mein sanam aaj ki raat guzray,
Kal ka sochenge kal pehle aaj ki ye raat guzray.

Sharab aur shabaab ka sangam aaj dekhenge,
Is qadar nashey mein aaj ki  ye raat guzray.

Chandni mein duba hua hai ye maikada,
Na ye chand guzray,na ye raat guzray.

Duniya ka har nasha ye nasha bhula deta hai,
Dua hai ke maikade mein har ek raat guzray.

Mere gham se hai kisko raghbat yahan,            (raghbat=intrest)
Sogaya ye jahan ,ab to pursukun ye raat guzray.  (Pursukoon=peaceful )

Mehboob-e-saaqi hai ab pehlu mein “Sahal” tere,
Chahta hoon aur aahista se ye raat guzray.
