wo ho saka na juda mujh se door ja ker bhi
main mutmain hu use hath se gawa ker bhi

agerche derd ki wajah hai uski yaade bhi
mila hai chain kaha use bhula ker bhi

jo sang lagta tha, nikla wo rui ka gola
main muntashir na hua uski chot kha ker bhi

hain aaj dafan kitaabo me uski tasveere
ye frame me rakhi thi kabhi saja ker bhi

zameer ki to adaalat me aa gaye 'samnoj'
wo kamyab na hue khoon me naha ker bhi

koun dariya ko ulat ta koun goher dekhta

wo to dunya ko meri awaargi khush aa gayi
wagerna tere hath me pahla pather dekhta

aankh me aansu jade the per sada tujh ko na di
ik ehsaas per ki shayed tu palat ker dekhta

meri kismat ki lakeere mere haatho me na thi
tere maathe per koi mera mukadder dekhta

zindaghi phaili hui thi shaam-e-hijra ki trah
kisko kitna hosla tha koun ji ker dekhta

doobne wala tha aur sahil pe chahro ka hujoom
pal ki mohlat thi main kis ko aankh bher ker dekhta

tu bhi dil ko lahu ki ek boondhi samjha hai
aankh ger hoti to katre me samunder dekhta

maayusiyon ki dhool se har naksh hai dhundla mera
maine kabhi aye zindagi, dekha nahi chehra tera
Aye khuda tu bhi kabhi mehsus kar kya hoti hai bikharne ki tadap
Ek roz baazi yun saja, sheesha tera aur patthar mera..
