dreams and despair
promises and farce
debts and revenge
kisses and scars

I am free from the burden of the past

wishes and the wounds
thorns and the rose
loves labours lost
friends folks n foes

I am free from the burden of the past

know not who I was
who knows what I'll be
don't care what I should  
this is what is me

I am free from the burden of the past

oh there mighty king
you now write my fate
humbly but I say
you are slightly late

I am free from the burden of the past

let us raise our glass
let us gulp the past
let's fill it up again
the future's here at last

I am free from the burden of the past
