mari sidi sadi zindagi hai,
                           may wohi khuli kitaab hu,


jo ghanghor andhere ke baad sunehri subah laye,
                              may wohi biti raat hu
  
jo na samghe mare sanskaro ko,
                        unke liye may kuch nahi,

jo samgh gaye mare khiyaalato ko,
                        may wohi baat hu,


akser hota hai log chale jate hai,
                 is duniya se anmol rishte banake,


jo tutne se bhi na tute,
                 may wohi sath hu,


jo alfaaz kisi ko dilasa na de sake,
                  woh alfaaz kuch nahi,


jo beyaan karde aankho se sara dard,
                      may wohi jazbaat hu
