KAAYENAAT

Kyaa bejaaduaanaa gham kadaa yeh kaayenaat hai,                
Bemazaa-o-beshauq-o-belutf sii yeh din-o-raat hai!

Dil benayaaz aarzoo-e-khwaahish-o-tamanaa hai...
Khudaraa kyaa issee kaa naam sakoon-e-hayaat hai!

Azaad laakh aseer gham ishq bhi ho to phir kyaa...
Yeh qaid kyaa kam hai ke bejaan baqaid hayaat hai!

Akelaa hoon itnaa ke siwaa khud koi dikhtaa nahin...
Aalam tamaam aaenaa-e-husn har soo hee zaat hai!

Insan beshak laakhon manzil theh kar chukaa ho...
Aisey mein khud.ko naa bhool jaaye to koi baat hai!

Ishq aur gham kaa rishtaa mazboot sahee MohaN,
Abb rishtaa-e-insan insaniyat bhi to ho to baat hai !!

Inspired from Shakil Badayuni’s ghazal.

Kaayenaat = existence; Life's existence;
Benayaaz = independent; free thinking;
Aseer = prisoner; captive; Aarzoo = wish;
Aaenaa-e-husn = image of beauty; Zaat = nature;
