                             toot   jaaye   dil   apnaa   zara   si  baat  per...,
                             rote   hain  phir  hum  to  aansoo  bhar-bhar  ke...,

                             rooth    kar   biwi   maayke   chali   gayi   hai...,
                             nayaa   kuch   nahin   qisse  ye   ghar-ghar   ke...,

                             chaand   koi   aaftaab   koi   ghazal   kahe  use...,
                             laqab   apnaa-apnaa    phere    nazar-nazar    ke...,

                             aas-paas  apne   tanhaai   ke  siwaa   kuch  nahin...,
                             hain  bus  haadse   khabro.n  mein  idhar-udhar ke...,
