 Karte rahe hain is ummeed se safar,
 kisi mod pe mil jaye koi humsafar.

 bechad gaye woh bhi jo the ummeedwaar,
 muntzir aankhen ko kab hoga deedar-e-naamabar.

 jis ko samajhte the teri rumaniyat ki karrwaii,
 asl mein woh thi teri ek rangeen ruswaii

 har saal ki tarh baarish is saal mein bhi hogee,
 sang dil ko aansu pighal napaya, kya baarish pighal paygee?

 nikal gaya aage humdard mera daaman chudake,
 kya hogaa fir kaarwaan se nataa jodke?

 zabtee mein aagayee mere dil ki har tamanna,
 ab naheen aasaan mere liye kabhi bhi rona.
