माँ  रोते  में  मुस्कुराना  तुमसे  सीखा है
कारे दुनियाँ का ताना-बाना तुमसे सीखा है

गर्दिश- ए- दौरा  तो आनी जानी शै
ज़िंदगी को गले लगाना तुमसे सीखा है

क्या मज़ाल आँखों तक आ जाएँ आँसू
दिल ही दिल में दर्द छिपाना तुमसे सीखा है

तलाश में उजालों की घर नहीं छोड़ा करते
अंधेरोन में दीए जलाना तुमसे सीखा है

क्या माथे की शिकन क्या ज़ुल्फो के पेच-ओ-खम
तक़दीर  के  बल मिटाना तुमसे  सीखा  है

जली है वो फक़त इक शमां की मानिंद सदा
रोशनी  घर  में  बसाना  तुमसे  सीखा  है

कहीं और नहीं सिवा तिरे वफ़ा की सूरत
प्यार की दौलत बरसाना तुमसे सीखा है
