MAATAM KYUN HO                                  

Jaataa hai yeh dil to jaaye aisaa bhi maatam kyun ho
Jan bhi to jaaye gee ek din dil kaa hee gham kyun ho!

Khud hee huey barbaad khud kee hee razaa se hum
Phir dost bhi kyun samajhaaein koi humdam kyun ho!

Raftaa raftaa meh choothhee sabar hee peetaa hoon
Iss se bhi abb eh merey mohtaasib phir kam kyun ho!

Ek hee uljhan ho to iss dil.ko samajhaa bhi loon main
Lekin nigorhaa nizaam hee darham bharham kyun ho!

Likhaa ho jo taqdeer mein woh to ho ke hee rahe gaa
Iss mein bhi phir tumh hee kaho abb weham kyun ho!

Unhse kyaa poochon ilaaj-e-dard-e-dil woh kahein gey...
MohaN insaaf kar har fiqr unhein abb hardam kyun ho!

Phir kahein gey kis qaafir se hai unhein koi bhi inaad
Jab jaan ke hee martaa ho koi unhein gham kyun ho!!

Mohtaasib = keeper of morals; Inaad = hostility; adaawat;
Darham barham = completely sour; bikhrhaa huaa;
