कुछ इस तरह ज़िंदगी में जान फूँकते रहे
कभी  उन्हें  मनाया  कभी हम रूठते रहे

जीने की अदाएँ  तो कोई  गुल से  सीखे
टूटे  जिस  शाख से  उसी  से  फूटते रहे

बहुत से लोग मिलते हैं राह-ए-ज़िंदगी में
कुछ  आते  रहे  याद  कुछ को  भूलते रहे

जज़्बा  रहा  था  दोनों  में बराबर शायद
हम  लुटते  रहे  प्यार  में  वो लूटते  रहे

कुछ तो हवाओं से कुछ आँधियों से रब्बा
ख्वाबों  के  पत्ते   शज़र  से   टूटते  रहे

यूँ  भी  हुआ  आसां  कुछ  सफ़र-ए-ज़िंदगी
कुछ   जुड़ते   रहे  रिश्ते   कुछ  छूटते   रहे

कितना हरा था पत्ता गुल था कितना लाल
शाख  से  क्या  टूटे  'सरु'  फिर  सूखते रहे

Jeene ki  adaayeN   to  koi  gul   se  seekhe
Toote  jis   shaakh se  usi  se  foot  te rahe

Kuch  aate  rahe  yaad kuch  ko  bhoolte rahe

Zazbaa  rahaa tha  dono meiN baraabar shayad
Hum lut  te rahe  pyar   meiN  vo loot te rahe

Kuch to  hawaoN  se  kuch  aandhiyoN se rabba
khwaaboN  ke  patte  shazar  se  toot te rahe

Yun  bhi  hua  aasaN  kuch  safar- e -zindagi
Kuch judte rahe  rishte kuch  chhoot te  rahe

Kitna  haraa tha patta gul  thaa kitna laal
Shakh se  kya  toote’saru’fir sookhte rahe
