यकीं उसकी उल्फ़त का मुझे आने तो दे
हँस   भी  लेंगे  पहले  मुस्कुराने  तो दे

तीर  क्या नज़रों  से तलवार चला जानां
जहां  तू नहीं है  जगह वो बताने तो दे

सूरज ढल जाने  का मतलब अंधेरा  नहीं
चाँद  निकलने दे तारे झिलमिलाने तो दे

अजी भूख की छोडो पहले प्यास की सुनो
ज़ख़्म  इन  हाथ के छालों को खाने तो दे

बदल डाले कब सूरत आती जाती आँधियाँ
अदाएँ  ज़रा  बहारों  को  दिखाने तो दे

तरकश  ही खाली है ना  तज़ुर्बे में कमी  
लगाने हैं तीर जहाँ  वो  निशाने  तो दे

ए नये ज़माने नया सबक भी सीख लूंगी
याद हैं जो पहले से 'सरु'को भुलाने तो दे

AdayeN zaraa bahaaroN ko dikhane to de

Taekash hi khali hai na tazurbe meiN kami
Lagaane haiN teer jahaaN vo nishane to de

E naye zamaane naya sabak bhi seekh loongi
Yaad haiN jo pehle se ‘saru’ ko bhulaane to de
