Naa-kaam kavi k marqad par
Jahan gham ka gehra saya hay
Ye kon diya lay aaya hay?

Haan bolo, bolo! Kon hay jo
Is raah pay tum ko laaya hay
Tum vb jee say kya lo gay?
Kya vb jee ne paaya hay?
Jo lay jaana hay lay jaao
Jo geet, sangeet kamaaya hay
Kuchh tooti phooti nazmen hen
Jo vb ka sarmaaya hay

Haan! Jaantay hen us larki ko
Par kis ne tumhen batlaaya hay?
Kya vb jee ko samjhaanay
Us larki ne bhijvaaya hay?
Pardes basi us larki ne,
Kya ab aisa kehlaaya hay?
Hum jaan gayay, hum jaan gayay
Ab hum ko samajh men aaya hay
Ye baat kahi hay na us ne
“Sub maaya hay, sub maaya hay”?
Jo Inshaa, Saahir cheekhay thay
Qateel ne jo farmaaya hay
Jo Aali, Naasir kehtay thay
Us naar ne bhe duhraaya hay

Tum hum ko kya samjhao gay?
Kya tum ne dhoka khaya hay?
Tum us larki say keh dena
Bay-shak ye jeevan maaya hay
Ik phool utha lo marqad say
Jo khushk para murjhaya hay
Ye us larki ko day dena
K vb ne bhijvaaya hay
Aur vb jee ne poochha hay
Kya is ki khushbu maaya hay?
