YadoN ke zharokhoN se jhilmilati rosni me nahaai hui shaam
Katra katra lamhoN ke saaey me lipti kuch alsaai hui shaam.

Duniya ke jhamelon ki jad-o-jahad me bitai dopahar ke baad
Rafta rafta aati hai jameeN par ye syaah gehraai hui shaam.

Dam-e-subah se suru hui bhag daud se nidhal pada hai jahaaN
jehn-o-jism ko sukoon deti aayi mann ko behlaai hui shaam.

Bahut hi muskil hota hai har pal kisi ko yaad rakhna hamesa,
Fursat me biti purani yaadoN ko lati koi bhulaai hui shaam.

PehroN lage rahte haiN sabhi dastoor-e-rozgaar me 'pankaj'
Ek bazm sajane ko jaam chalkane ko ab shaudaai hui shaam.
