zakham ye dil  ke  kaafee  nasoor they,
samjhe  nahee  kiya  huye  kasoor they,

mohhobat ke charche hote they charo or,
woh haseen  zamaane shayad koi or they,

sehte rahe chup chaap  apne  gamo,n ko,
haalat ke aage huye  itne majboor they,

do premiyo,n  ko  judaa  kar  dene kaa,
ahal e jahaa,n ke puraane dastoor they,

meri bebasee  woh sangdil kiya samjhte,
jinko  akser  shohrat  ke  guroor they,

yaado,n main akser usko  paa  lete hai,
meri asal zindagi main milo,n door they,

aansu aa gaye they  hijr ki  raat main,
woh dil todke hase sanam  magroor they,
