Punjabi tapey are meant mostly to be sung by young girls and women at Punjabi Weddings but frequently men also join in. Generally they consist of 2 lines. The first line has no meaning, it is to set the tune are is to rhyme with the 2nd line. Mostly the lines are composed on the subject of love but sometime it takes a turn for politics as well. Here is a example of one Tapaa:

DO PATAR AMROODAN DE...
WEY VICHON SAADI IK JINDRHI, UTON FARAK WAJUDAAN DE!

So here are some tapey composed by me:

1. SAADEH VERHEY VICH IMLEE DAA BOOTAA EH...
   WEY ASEE KHUSH KYUN NAA HOIYE, SAANU SAJNAA DAA JHOONTAA EH!

2. DO BOOTEY NE ANAARAN DE...
   RAB UHNU LAMBHI UMR DEVEY, EH MELE NE YAARAN DE!

3. DO PEHR NE KIKRAN DE...
   VEY HUN KADON AAO GEY, EH TAAN MEL NE MITRAN DE!
   TUSEE TAAN KEHNDE SII, KADE VEE NAA BICHHRAN GEY!

4. VERHEY VICH BOOTAA TULSI DA...
   MINISTERAN NUN DAFAA KARO, EH QISAA EH KURSI DAA!

5. KHANAA KHAA KE SAUF KHAAYAA KARO...
   JHOOTH ZARA GHAT BOLO, RAB DAA KHAUF VEE KHAAYAA KARO!

6. SAWAN DAA MAHINAA AAGAYAA...
   MAHIYAA TE AAYAA NAHIN, PATANG URHAAN DAA MAHINAA AAGAYAA!

7. KOTHEY TE HUNN AAJAA MAHIYAA...
   SAUN DE VEY VELAA HO GAYAA, TUNN MANJIYAN VICHHAA MAHIYAA!

8. MAHIYAA WEY EH MANJI TAA GILEE EH...
   WEY ASII KIDAN SAUNVAA GEY, EIDEE TAAN DAUN VEE DHILEE EH!

9. KEE HOYAA JE MANJI DHILEE EH, AAPAN TE SAUN JAANVAN GEY...
   NINH VICHON SAADI IK JINDRHI, IK HO KE SAUN JAANVAN GEY!!
