masla e azam tha syed qaom ka meymaar tha
khoobroo tha narm khu tha sahib e kirdar tha
so rahi thi qaum sari ek wohi bedar tha
qaum ka ar fard uskey naam sey bezaar tha
koi kehta tha usey mulhad to koi nechri
lekin aisi batoon ki usney koi parva na ki
yoon to auron ki tarha syed bhi ek insan tha
haan magar ek farq tha sum jism they woh jaan tha
us key dil mein qaum ki islah ka arman tha
kaam mushkil tha magar uskey liyeh aasan tha
paoon uska raastey mein dagmaga sakta na tha
mard aahein tha, koi usko hila sakta na tha
syed ahmed khann ney girtey sey sambhala qaum ko
teergi se jehel ki usney nikala qaum ko
ilm o hikmat ka diya usney ujala qaum ko
zindigi key ek nayey sanchey mein dhala qaum ko
syed ahmed khan hamara mohsino gham khwar tha
mushtarak tehzeeb ka sachcha ilm bardar tha.
