Har shakhs begaana lagte hai dil ke aaine mein,
sirf tumhen apnaa samjha is aajnabee dunia mein.

 zulm-o-sitam ko zindegee ka qissaa samajh kar,
 dard chupate rahe hum qeemtee pairahan mein.

 khwabon ka manzar ko tutte hue dekhkar,
 har pal basar kiya aanjani haqiqat mein.

 pfirte rahe hum dar badar laachaar hokar,
 chaaragaree kabhi neheen mili teree galee mein.

 surmaii raat ko zulfon ki tarah lehraakar,
 justguu ko badal diya usne ankahee sukhan mein.

 surmaii raat ko teri zulfon ki tarah lehraakar,
 justguu ko badal diya usne ankahee sukhan mein.
