MEHMAAN

Mere ghar mein yeh aaj kaun mehmaan aayaa hai,
          Nabaz ruk rahee hai heraan karne kaun aayaa hai!

Hazoor yeh pardah kis liye aur yeh takaluf kis liye,
         Zaraa khul ke boliye yeh sirf haan aur naa kis kiye!

Jo bhi keejiye ho numaayan chupaa ke naa keejiye
     Jo bhi keejiye sab kaa nafaa nuksaan soch ke keejiye!

Dard bharhtaa hai to bharhne do taz bazab kaisaa,
          Baat kyun khote ho manat kash-e-daaman kaisaa!

Chaaraa gar ho ke maseehaa, humen kyaa matlab,
           Humen sharmindah hokar jeene kaa kyaa matlab!

Kulfat-e-rindan gham-e-tark chaman yaad bahaar,
       Kitne azaar hain marg-e-khush alhan hokar dildaar!

Hum jeeyen bhi to jeeyen kis liye bin bahaaron ke,
         Kyaa dekhaa hai, yeh jahan kabhi bin nazaaron ke!

MohanN kisee sher mein zikar-e-furkat naa aaye,
           Dekh iss nuraanee chehre pe koi shikan naa aaye!!

taz bazab = to prevail upon;
Manat kash-e-daaman = why supplicate make promises
