रोशनी हुई कहीं कहीं दीये जलते रहे
मंज़िलें मिली नहीं क़दम मेरे चलते रहे

कौन सी इंसानियत देखा परखा जहाँ
सर झुका लिया अगर लोग कुचलते रहे

ज़रूरतें रहीं ऊपर कहीं नीचे हसरत रही
संग संग वक़्त के हम शौक़ बदलते रहे

समंदर बने कभी कभी अश्क़ बन बहते रहे
भाप बन उड़े कभी हम बर्फ़ से जमते रहे

फ़सले गुल पे बहार तब जाके आई यहाँ
बिजलियों से सामना कभी तूफ़ाँ मिलते रहे
