jala ke khud ko raat roshan tumne jo ki hai
isi ik roshni se ham to bas  sharma hi jate hain
qadam uthte nahi ye soch kar ki raat roshan hai
tumhari simt ham aaker bhi aksar laut jaate hain

kis tarah kati sham tumhe kya malum
tanhai intezar ka vo ik musalsal daur
har pal tha toot jataa dil aas chorke
pal bhar men nai aas phir aajati kahi se
ik silsila tha aas ke mitne aur bandhne ka
isme  har bar gai jaan tumhe kya malum
