najaane kitni baaten mai sochta jahan thha
najaane kitne chehre mai khojta jahan thha
kitne hi haseen chehre aankhon mai theherte thhe
kitne haseen lamhe pal bhar mai badalte thhe
kuchh chhoti chhoti baaton par log jhugarte thhe
khud hi woh bigarte thhe... khud hi woh sanbhalte thhe
masoom se woh bachche maasoom muskurahat
phoolon ki tarhan khilte khushyon se uchhalte thhe
haathon mai haath daale do pyaar karne waale
har roz hi milte thhe har roz bichharte thhe
thhaame kitaab haathon mai chehra bhi kitaabi
ghar se nikalti jab woh dil sub ke durakte thhe
ahsan buhat sataae ab yaad buhat aaey
meri gali ka nukkar  meri gali ka nukkar
