bijli chali gae tu sitaare he dekh lain!
bikhre hain jo falak pe nazare he dekh lain!

in gulrukhoon ke husn se niklain hain bijliyaan
tarikyoon main noor ke haale he dekh lain!

bijli nahin he gher se nikal aye ho gi wo!
ham aazma ke apne sitaare he dekh lain

rakhte he wo naqaab main chehra chupa ke youn!
aisa na ho ke deed ke mare he dekh lain!

bijli gae tu gate pe ghantoon khare rahe!
soocha chattoon pe naachte taare he dekh lain!
