Tooney kyoun utaar dee hai, wo chamkeelee-see choorhee?
Too to abhee naheen hai, haan, parhdaadee maan see boodhhee?"

Fir-fir poochheygee, "Batlaa to, maan too kyoun rotee hai?
Khaatee-peetee naheen; kintu munh rah-rah kar dhotee hai?"

Beytaa poochheygaa, "Maan, mujhko kyaa na nahaayegee too?
Aaj, gol sindooree teekaa kyaa na lagaayegee too?

Maan, ab kabhee naheen rokoongaa; ley-ley taklee meyree!
Is kee nok bhalee hai: laalee bhar maang mein ghaneyree!!

Is key binaa, mujhey to, too parhdaadee-see lagtee hai!
Beer-bahootee kousheiyee kyaa khaadee sey sajtee hai?"
