Teri yaad mein kya kya ajeeb hota hai
Chaand mere takiye ke neeche
Aur teri soorat aasmaan mein hoti hai
Taare meri aankhon mein timtimate hain
Aur mere aansu aasmaan mein chaa jaate hain
Idhar meri aankhon se taare tootte hain
Aur udhar aasmaan se aansu girte hain
Kabhi jab main chaand ko takiye se nikalta hoon
Aur hathon mein bharkar use dekhta hoon
To tum sharma kar chip jaati ho
Main fir se chaand ko takiye ke neeche rakhkar
Tumhe dhoondne lagta hoon
 Par fir tumhari jagah chaand aa jaata hai
Aur mere aansuon kee jagah taare
Pata hee nahin chalta kee tum ho ya chaand
Mere aansu hain ya taare......
